Piret Bra

Piret Bra

The new Piret Bra is here! Available in three lovely colours, this latest style is an absolute must have. With Piret our mission was to create a bra that would fit a larger cup, whilst still keeping the comfort and cool factor of our best-selling signature Silvia triangle bra.

Piret Bra

Coming to the result was far from easy though. This bra was years in the making because I was never satisfied with our samples. There was always something not right. It had to look and feel like “Kriss Soonik” but that didn’t occur for a long time.

After countless tests and frustration we finally got the bra we wanted! Made from our Classic French lace, signature wide elastic under bust, wide shoulder straps, edged with velvet trims and decorated with two tiny box bows in the front – it has the everyday comfort factor, sexiness and fit.

The idea was also to extend the Classic range offerings, so Piret got a matching lace thong. Now you can actually mix and match the Piret Bra, Piret Thongs, Silvia Bra and Maike Knickers in whichever way you like.

Kriss Soonik for Journelle

Journelle

When we sat down with the girls from America’s hottest lingerie boutique Journelle last year, the idea of the collaboration came very quickly.

Kriss Soonik Journelle Boy Beater

We wanted to create something classic with a bit of the unexpected. The result? A fresh take on our bestselling Bridget Body. The exclusive Boy Beater is a super soft ribbed tank with a sinfully lace-covered bum for a little dose of skin, and a bold keyhole in the back to compliment the shoulder blades. Top it with our signature satin bow and voíla! Comfy, chic, and a little naughty. It’s a great go-to transitional piece, perfectly wearable for work or play (with a few costume changes). See below how the ladies from Journelle wear it and read more about the collaboration on their blog.

Behind the Design: Kristel Knickers

Kristel Knickers

Kristel Knickers are another of our signature pieces that have been with us since the very beginning. It’s a product that combines two of our favourite materials from our bestselling ranges – luxurious French lace and supersoft jersey.

Kristel Knickers

The collection where the Kristel Knickers first appeared was called “The Warrior”. The year was 2009. The range was dark and sexy in a fresh new way. It was more fashion-forward than pin-up. Not many luxury lingerie designers saw jersey as a potentially glamorous material. But I was on a mission to change that with the Kristel Suspender Top, Kristel Knickers and Bridget Body.

Kristel Knickers

Our cute yet cheeky Kristel Knickers are handcrafted in Estonia and made of Italian jersey and French lace. They can be worn under a pair of jeans or as sleepwear. The cut is flattering and reveals exactly as much as needed…

City Guide: Tokyo

Tokyo

My semi-annual trips to Tokyo is what keeps my inspiration juices flowing. The energy I get from this city is like no other. Here are some of the places I managed to visit on my last busy trip.

SHOPPING

I always visit the golden triangle – Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku – for all my craziest fashion needs and just to get a general feel of the current state of trends. I already get inspired by the vibrancy of the street style. There are many places we sell our collections in these areas, including two of the best department stores Seibu Shibuya and Isetan Shinjuku, so it´s always mixing work with pleasure.

KOENJI

Every time I’m in Tokyo, I try to find new places. Koenji, just a stop from Shinjuku, is probably the coolest neighbourhood in Tokyo at the moment. It’s home to an expanding creative scene. You can shop for vintage clothes and vinyl records, go to live music bars and just generally walk around and get immersed in culture and creativity on every step.

SAKURA

This was my fourth time in Tokyo during Spring. I had seen cherry blossoms before but I had never been in Tokyo during the peak blossoming season. Now I know what the hype is about! My greatest experience to view the cherry blossoms was in Tokyo Midtown. It´s especially powerful to look at the fluffy trees from above. It reminded me of seeing first snow of the season.

MIRAIKAN SIENCE MUSEUM

It´s no surprise that I am a huge fan of robots. Visiting Miraikan had been on my to-do list for a long time. Loved seeing Asimo´s demonstration and chatting to tiny robots. Of course until the cute robots called me old…

Caribbean Dreaming Pop-Up

Kriss Soonik

It was my 8th time in Tokyo but this time was extra special – I was finally there during the peak cherry blossoming. And I must say nothing really compares to these fluffy white and pink petals. Apparently Sakura season is bigger than Christmas in Japan. And now I know what the hype is about!

The main reason for my visit to Tokyo this time was our pop-up at Omotesando Hills Rocket at the heart of Tokyo’s most prestigious shopping street Omotesando. This is the legendary street where Gucci, Chanel, Loewe et al. have their flagships.

We had a fabulous opening party. Was so great seeing all my Japanese friends (thank you for my beautiful flowers and gifts!) and also meeting so many new faces. The pop-up’s theme was “Caribbean Dreaming” after our SS17 campaign. Guests were posing with our campaign stars dolphin and flamingo while sipping Litchi Blue cocktails. We had loads of fun as you can see from the gallery below.

Until next time Tokyo!

Katwomen T-Shirts

Katwomen T-Shirt

Last summer we brought our cat logo alive with the very talented illustrator Kati Stimmer. We called her Kat. She is a glamorous creature – sassy, independent and courageous. She doesn’t care what others think about her because she just really enjoys being herself.

T-Shirt

My name is always written with a C whenever I go, so it wasn’t really hard to come up with her name. But that was also the moment when the idea for the Katwomen Alphabet occurred. Letters combined with our beautiful creature on cool T-shirts? I was sold. It had been a long-time dream of mine to include a range of T-shirts into our collections.

Katwomen Alphabet

The supersoft organic cotton T-Shirt comes with 21 different letters making it easy to find your initial. Rock it with a pair of jeans or wear it underneath our Susan Tops or Bodies. The peek-a-boo detailing is perfect to show off your letter.

Lace Lingerie

Writing about our bestselling classic items is like walking on memory lane. Silvia Bra is where it all started for the Kriss Soonik brand. If today you see triangle bralettes in every store, in every fashion show, then 8 years ago the scene was very different. All the brands were selling constructed bras, mainly padded or even push-ups. Then we came along with our soft cup bra. Our collection overall was more casual for a luxury brand. Using fabrics such as jersey and velour, so we got away with it. And not only did we get away with it, we owned that piece. Our brand became known for that lace bra with the wide elastic.

 French Lace

The first Silvia was made of black French lace – glamorous, chic and an immediate bestseller. For our 5th birthday we launched the Rainbow of Bras collection where Silvia came in many different bright and pastel colours. We are now constantly adding new shades to the mix. We have also extended the range into different fabrics, the Silvia Fishnet Bra being one of the most popular.

 Lace Lingerie

But of course talking about the Silvia Bra without mentioning Maike Knickers is only telling half the story. From the very beginning it has been a match made in heaven. Bold wide elastic with delicate lace combination finished with the square satin bow has made the set both sexy and sporty. It’s everyday lovely lingerie for a modern woman!

Caribbean Dreaming

Caribbean Dreaming

Our SS17 campaign “Caribbean Dreaming” is all about the small joys in life.

My grandmother Maie became the unexpected style muse for the shoot. I remember her always being very glamorous. Even when she was sunbathing in the garden of our Summer cottage, she had a proper hairdo and purple lipstick on. It was the time when Estonia was still part of the Soviet Union and travelling abroad was impossible. You couldn´t just buy a ticket and fly to the Caribbean for a holiday, so you had no choice but to make the most of your backyard sunbathing sessions.

The modern reason for not being able to fly to the Caribbean is lack of time. Our busy lifestyles became the inspiration for our SS17 photoshoot. When you just don´t have the time for a vacation, you can always create your own sunshine. Take time off in small portions and enjoy these fun little moments in life. We always want more but sometimes we just have to make the most of what we already have!

Behind the Design: Kristel Turtleneck

Turtleneck Suspender Top

We launched the first Summer collection in 2009 with our Kristel Suspender Tank Top being one of the stars. Women immediately fell in love with its feminine shape and the comfortable jersey fabric. I was certainly one of the fans of the design. Being from Estonia I had to also create something to survive the freezing Nordic Winter in the same classy style. This is how the Kristel Turtleneck Suspender Top was born.

Kristel Suspender Top

Named after our first photographer and my dear friend Kristel Raesaar, the top is as versatile as her creative mind (she came up with the term “loungerie” for us, so you get what I mean). The top can be worn hidden as a layering piece or you can rock it with pairs of jeans and let the suspenders show. Moreover it’s reversible, meaning you can have the cutout in the front or at the back.

Turtleneck Suspender Top

Made in Estonia from the softest viscose jersey sourced from our long-time suppliers in Italy, I never wanted to compromise on the fabric. It had to be the softest and most durable option we could find. I wanted women who wear the top to feel confident, comfortable and sexy. With so many ways how to wear it, I think it really ticks all the boxes.

Manufacturing

I have always seen it as an more fashionable alternative to a classic black turtleneck.
It truly is a staple piece with a twist!

Love The Now

Last week Embassy of Champagne hosted a very bubbly photoshoot in one of the most luxurious hotels in Tallinn – Hotel Telegraaf. Their most elegant VIP suite became a photostudio for Moët & Chandon’s Love The Now campaign. And of course we´re really excited that our creations got featured in this gorgeous shoot. Here are some of our favourites from the campaign shot by photographer Kirill Gvozdev.
