Spring Inspiration

Now that our brand new spring-summer collection is up and available on our website, it’s the perfect time to talk about the inspiration behind it. This season the collection consists of smaller ranges that were all inspired by different travels and places.

Glossy Jersey

It’s all about the stunning glossy fabric and clever little details with this range. The cuts might be sporty but the shiny jersey adds just the right amount of glamour. The nude & navy colours represent the sand and the sea – the essentials of summer and that holiday feeling.

Kriss Soonik Glossy Jersey

The beautiful blue is inspired by Kriss’s travels to Mexico last year, especially by the small resort village of Tulum, where she saw this shade mixed in the most unexpected combinations. One of the most memorable being with bright pink in the lively Carribean architecture.

Curacao Lace

Velvet Dot

Parisian Chic! The Velvet Dot range has that certain je ne sais quoi about it. The beautiful mesh fabric is cool yet classy, it both covers and shows off. The dots are made of velvet that are really soft to touch. The simple, elegant shapes complement the playfulness of the dots resulting in a tres chic ensemble.

City Guide: Paris

In Paris I’m always in a hurry. Doing trade shows, visiting boutiques or fabric shows is sure fun but there’s never time to fully enjoy Paris. There are a few places though that I try to visit when in the City of Love. Here are my favourites.

A dream destination for fashion lovers. You have everything from vintage flea markets to a selection of great French high-street to super high-end labels. The must visit would be the iconic Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann. With its remarkable dome and wide range of brands its one of my favourite shopping destinations. Until the 15th of Feb you can also find a selection of Kriss Soonik products on the lingerie floor.

Colette is a fashionable concept store that almost every day has a new product launch or an event happening, and therefore is always packed with all sorts of fashionistas. You can get everything from a simple pen to haute-couture frocks there.

If you are in the Le Marais area make sure not to miss Dollhouse – a cool lingerie shop that also carries some of our pieces.

The city itself is so beautiful and historical that even a short walk around Paris is almost too much to take in. There are however few places we always try to visit. One of them is Petite Palais. The little sister to the more known Grand Palace is a true gem. The building, erected in the 1900s is a true piece of art within itself. Inside you can find paintings, sculptures and works of art from Ancient Greece right up to the First World War. It also has the sweetest courtyard with the best cafe.

No day starts without a visit to a local boulangerie where croissants and pain au chocolates are mandatory. For food shopping nothing beats La Grande Épicerie, which is part of the famed Bon Marché department store in the sixth arrondissement. Considered the best food shop in Paris it literally has everything! On top of French delicatessen the whole world cuisine is represented.

Another place worth mentioning is La Chaufferie, a cosy place nearby Gare du Nord that offers modern french dishes. Their onion soup is absolutely to die for!

3 days in Paris

It was the fourth time showing our collections at the number 1 lingerie trade show in the world – Salon International de la Lingerie. For the AW17 season we were chosen to show in the brand new area – Uncover. The space was light and airy, had a very relaxed vibe, a great soundtrack, and a glass of champagne in the evenings sure made the three days very enjoyable. Trade shows can be hard but the organisers Matthieu and Daniela treated us really well.

Meanwhile on the other side of freezing cold Paris, the iconic department store Galeries Lafayette opened a Valentine’s pop-up featuring a hand-picked selection from our collection. If that wasn’t fantastic enough news, when we visited the store, we found the mannequin wearing our Susan Glitter Gown! The pop-up will stay open until the 15th February, so if you’re in town, go check it out.

Visual Diary: Paris

We spent last weekend in Paris to showcase our AW16 collection to international lingerie buyers at Salon de la Lingerie. It was hard work and long days at the Porte de Versailles exhibition hall, but we still found time to have some fun and enjoy Paris as well.

We managed to do some shopping market research at the marvelous department stores, sample excellent French cuisine and catch a glimpse of the Eiffel tower. Definitely ate too many croissants along the way!

And by the way, Kriss Soonik was picked as one of the few brands to be included in The Selection Guide by the organizers. A great honour among the hundreds of brands showing.

À bientôt, Paris!

Visual Diary: Paris

Last weekend we returned to the City of Love to showcase our next AW15 collection to international lingerie buyers. Although we spent three long days in a large Porte de Versailles exhibition hall, we still found time to have some fun. Here’s a little photo diary of our trip we put together for you.

And by the way, Lingerie Insight trade magazine picked Kriss Soonik as one of the showstoppers of the fair. A great honour among the 480 brands showing. Take a look here.

Inspirational Women – Paris

Clémence Poésy
The epitome of a cool French girl. The casual yet chic style she pulls off so effortlessly gives her such a fresh look. We´d love to see her in our sportier styles – Kristel Polo Suspender Top and Silvia Mesh Set would definitely fit into her wardrobe well.

Brigitte Bardot

A woman that doesn´t need introduction. Her sexy yet innocent vibe has equally seduced men and women over many decades. Black is the word that would describe best the styles that we picked for Brigitte´s wardrobe. The Classic Kristel Suspender Top and Splash! Swimsuit work best for their simple yet feminine touch.

Joséphine de La Baume

Sexy, strong, fun-loving and oh so rock and roll. Show me one girl who doesn´t want to be like that? Bold looks that will turn heads. We picked the Kristel Fishnet Suspender Top and the best-selling Silvia lace bra for Joséphine´s dream wardrobe.

#ksworldtour – Paris Edition

This month #ksworldtour heads to the city of love – Paris – to celebrate our 5th anniversary.

On Monday we hosted a breakfast in Paris to preview the next Spring/Summer 2015 collection to boutiques around the world. Guests from USA, France, Germany & Ukraine enjoyed croissants and pain au chocolat´s while browsing through the new collections.

Kriss Soonik Paris Event

Kriss Soonik SS15 collection has been inspired by the duality of ballet – the softness of the dancers outfits and the perceived easiness of the movements vs the powerful technical precision of the dance. The collection is all about playing with extremes. Dainty beige-orange French Lace injects a pop of colour, black Snakeskin Mesh brings on a strong play with texture whilst Ribbed Jersey and Fishnet in white add a bridal touch to the collection.

We are really grateful that the Estonian Embassy in Paris agreed to host our event. The venue just off Boulevard Haussmann with large windows and a lot of natural light really matched the airy vibe and colours of the next Summer collections.

Urmas of Vikwäl, Kriss & Marit from the Estonian Embassy in Paris

Our good friend Urmas has just launched a nutri-smoothie brand – Vikwäl –  and he came along to energise our guests for the day. The smoothies really are wonderful, they sure kept me going for the whole busy day. No wonder Le Bon Marché is already stocking them.

A huge thank you to everyone who came for our breakfast and we can´t wait to host another event like this soon.
